Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or MBBS is called Medicinae Baccalaureus Baccalaureus Chirurgiae in Latin. As is apparent from the full form, MBBS is two separate degrees combined in one area and rewarded together during practice.
MBBS: Duration
To complete this undergraduate degree, 5 years of graduation and a mandatory 1-year internship under a non-profit organization (NGO) is mandatory. Thus, it takes 6 years to complete this degree. After completing the degree, the candidate can practise in hospitals and other health, and medicine departments.
MBBS: Eligibility
- Candidates who have a Science background in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and English and are eligible to appear for the entrance exam for MBBS.
- 50% marks in higher secondary examinations or pre-university qualification exams are essential. For OBC/SC/ST criteria is 40%.
- The age of the candidate must be between 17-25 while enrollment. OBC/SC/ST students get a relaxation of five years.
- Appearing for NEET-UG, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency, is important to grab admission for MBBS in one of the best colleges in India.
NEET
Conducted by NTA, NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is an important exam for the students to get admission to the best colleges for the NEET-UG and NEET-PG courses. The student must give the NEET UG exam to pursue MBBS. And, for PhD/Doctorate courses in medical science, NEET PG is compulsory.
