Simple Online Editor that can Optimize your Content - EditPad

Technology #lifehacks#apps

EditPad is a great resource for optimizing textual content. In this review, we will discuss its paraphrasing tool. That’s because paraphrasing is the single most important skill required for optimizing content.

With paraphrasing you can deal with almost all issues that result in unoptimized content. Poor readability? Paraphrase it. Have duplication issues? Paraphrase them away. You get the idea. Anyway, we are going to show you how the EditPad paraphraser can help to optimize content.

Let’s dive into the details and see how you can use this tool to improve your content.

EditPad Paraphraser: Features that Help to Optimize Content

The EditPad paraphraser has five different ways to rephrase a sentence or phrase. Each mode has a specific purpose. Which mode you should use depends on the circumstances. Essentially, you need to be aware of what problems your content has to take full advantage of the EditPad paraphraser.

Now, we will discuss each mode in detail and see what kind of problems they solve. This will tell you how to optimize your content with this tool.

    1. Smooth Mode (Free)

EditPad.org is a freemium tool. That means that some of its features are available for free while others are paid. In this case, three modes out of the five are free. You can use them whenever you want without any restrictions. However, you have to pay for a subscription that lets you use the premium modes as well as raises the word count per session for all modes.

Anyway, with that out of the way, let’s see what the Smooth mode is about and how it helps to optimize your content. Smooth mode for lack of a better word makes your work easier to read i.e., makes it smoother.

It achieves this by replacing words and phrases in your text with their synonyms. Of course, the words and phrases that are changed are those that were hard to read. The paraphraser has two text boxes, the left one is for inputting the text and the right is for the output.

The output has several bold words and phrases. These are the changes that the paraphraser has made to the text. Check them out to see what has changed.

Read the results yourself and you will see that they are smoother to read. This is really good for improving the quality of your content because you want people to interact and connect with it. And that’s only possible if the content can be understood.

    2. Reworder Mode (Free)

Another free mode provided by the EditPad paraphrasing tool is the Reworder mode. This mode is tailored for reducing keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing is this issue in content writing where a writer will accidentally use a few keywords too many times.

Now, adjusting keywords is a mandatory technique for content optimization. But there is a fine line between underuse and overuse of keywords. If you don’t use them the right amount search engines will either fail to identify the searches for which the content was written or penalize the content. Penalties happen when keywords are used too much, which is a bad technique in SEO.

Search engines do not like it when users try to manipulate rankings in uncouth ways, so they punish them by reducing the ranking or delisting the website from their index. To avoid this content writers can use Reworder mode. This mode finds words that are used too much and changes them to other words with the same meaning.

It also has another feature in which you can replace bold words. You simply click on them, and a list of synonyms shows up. You can select one word to replace the bold one from this list. With these features and functions the Reworder mode can optimize content by reducing keyword stuffing.

    3. Formal Mode (Free)

Yes, that is achieved by using more casual words and expressions. The paraphraser replaces words with their synonyms that are better for a formal paper.

You can look at this in the picture below.

There is not much else to say except that this mode is useful for optimizing content when you have to write in a professional and formal tone. For example, if you are writing a blog post about teaching or some kind of research, then you will have to maintain a professional tone. Instead of worrying about it, you can just have this paraphraser do it for you.

But how does this contribute to content optimization? A large part of content optimization deals with how your audience reacts to the content. That’s why readability is so important. But tone and delivery also play a huge part in this. If the tone does not match the content, it creates a weird disconnect which is jarring and uncomfortable for the reader. By ensuring that the tone matches the content, you increase the chances of people engaging with the content.

    4. Smart Mode (Premium)

This is the first premium mode, and it is similar to the Formal mode. Basically, it changes the tone of the text to make it more academic. Formal mode may be good for making your write-up sound professional and in most cases that overlaps with academic tones. But there are enough differences to warrant a separate mode for the two tones.

In the given image you can see that the new words are more academically accurate. Fewer layman terms have been used and more scientifically accurate terms have been favored. You can see that unnecessary adjectives have been removed from the content to make it more academic-looking. The best example is the phrase:

“…is a dazzling, searing ball of hot, glowing plasma.”

    It has been rephrased as:

“…is a dazzling ball of hot plasma.”

See how the extra words “searing” and “glowing” have been removed. These types of changes help make the content fit an academic tone.

    5. Improver Mode (Premium)

This is the last mode available in the EditPad paraphraser. To use this mode, you have to buy any one of the various premium packages that EditPad offers. The Improver mode can be best described as “Fluency mode but better”.

This mode will do everything that is required to make the text more readable such as replacing words with their synonyms and altering phrases. But it also changes the sentence structure of complex sentences to make them simpler.

It also makes no mistakes. The context is preserved perfectly, and the meaning of the original text is transferred one to one. Content writers want to use this mode when their write-up has too many readability issues. So, young, and budding writers should use this mode to avoid having to edit their early works too much.

    Pricing and Premium Benefits
